The Ketchum Group offers a complete SOJT system which is based upon and licensed from Paradigm Training Systems, internationally acclaimed as the best, most effective structured OJT program available.

We train people how to train others. The training system instructs the trainers in developing SOJT through planning, teaching, and testing, which results in error-free learning. This training is based on learning how to identify job tasks, conduct task analysis, and teaches the most effective explaining, demonstrating and coaching techniques. An evaluation system verifies your employees learn the skills and apply the knowledge.

Training The OJT Trainer

TKG delivers 3 days of on-site personalized training designed for 3, 6, 9 or 12 participants using the TKG Structured OJT Trainer Course.  Beginning with TKG's Instructor Selection Test, to help identify those employees most likely to succeed as OJT Trainers, participants are taught both instructional and development skills as they are led through practice exercises with “transparent” content to learn the SOJT process. Your trainers will learn how to use TKG's on-line LeanOJT™ to perform task analyses and develop performance checklists, training handouts, and lesson plans, using our proprietary “Show-Tell System”.

This enables you to establish and maintain your own SOJT program year after year.

You learn how to set up and manage your SOJT program:

  • Focuses on error-free learning, procedure compliance, and expert performance
  • Supports your quality control system with documentation and metrics

Structured OJT is equally suitable for all types of applications: manufacturers, service industry, retail, education, government, etc.

Unique Features of Our System

Quality Program

  • The SOJT system will support your ISO 9000 and 9001:2015.
  • The system specifically supports the guidelines in ANSI/ASQC.
  • The error-free learning outcomes support all quality management requirements.
  • Task analyses, job aids, and performance tests are at one more level of detail than your work instructions, to which they can be directly tied.
  • All necessary documentation is maintained in our LeanOJT™ system for training and audit review.

Instructor Quality

  • We use the Instructor Selection Test ® to determine which employees have the potential to be the best coaches, trainers and mentors.
  • The content-free approach to teaching instructional skills ensures the instructors use the whole teaching process to cause error-free learning.
  • By practicing Real-Content Coaching with the skills they will teach on the job, your instructors start right off with success.
  • The TKG LeanOJT™ system, based on level 3 on-the-job performance, will verify that your OJT Trainers are fully qualified and capable. See Kirkpatrick’s 4 Levels of Evaluation Model

Cost Benefits

  • You’ll have an in-house OJT training capability that will minimize the need for outside contractors.
  • LeanOJT™ provides the means to modify and change processes, procedures and related training documentation instantaneously.
  • Productivity and quality are likely to be higher because employees are able to work faster and better. This leads to better use of time and materials, resulting in considerable cost savings.
  • Employees won't be learning from peers and won't be using inefficient, incorrect, or unsafe methods.
  • High quality products, information and services will reduce complaints from customers and raise the prestige of your organization.
  • When employees become accustomed to learning and experience immediate success, they are more quickly trained on new and additional tasks, which raises flexibility at all levels.
  • You’ll have less turnover and absenteeism, as lack of timely, proper training is a frequent reason given for leaving a company.
  • You’ll use a ROI system to show the benefits of structured OJT to the company.
